Misconception 2: Spellcasting Can Control Other People

It cannot, and any practitioner who tells you otherwise is not being honest with you. Ethical spellwork does not override the free will of others. Attempting to control or manipulate another person through magic is not only ineffective in any lasting sense, it is also deeply problematic from an ethical standpoint.
